The 10th meeting of the Interstate Council on Combating Corruption was held in Yerevan, the capital of Armenia. The delegation of the Republic of Uzbekistan, led by Akmal Burkhanov, Director of the Anti-Corruption Agency, participated in the meeting as a full member of the organization.
At the meeting, the head of the Uzbekistan delegation highlighted the effectiveness of the anti-corruption reforms being implemented in the country under the leadership of President Shavkat Mirziyoyev. He expressed readiness for active participation in the Council’s work, sharing Uzbekistan’s accumulated experience, and supporting new joint initiatives.

The participants discussed several key issues, including combating the illicit circulation of virtual currencies, corporate liability for corruption-related offenses, and fostering a business environment free from corruption.

As part of the visit, the delegation of the Anti-Corruption Agency held bilateral meetings with representatives of several authorized bodies of foreign states. In particular, during a meeting with the Prosecutor General of Armenia, Anna Vardapetyan, an agreement was reached to develop bilateral cooperation in combating corruption.
A cooperation document was also signed between the Anti-Corruption Agency of Uzbekistan and the Office of the Prosecutor General of the Republic of Belarus. The document provides for cooperation in areas such as the exchange of legal information, the development of scientific and methodological recommendations, the identification and elimination of factors conducive to corruption offenses, as well as ensuring objectivity and transparency in the activities of officials.
