Uzbekistan delegation participates in the 71st Session of the World Health Assembly

The delegation of Uzbekistan led by the Minister of Health of Uzbekistan Alisher Shadmanov participates in the 71st Session of the World Health Assembly.The World Health Assembly is considered the supreme agency of WHO. The annual session of the assembly is usually held on May, in Geneva.
According to tradition, the current 71st session is also held in Geneva, Switzerland. On May 21, the official opening of the event took place, where the delegation of Uzbekistan participates along with the leaders in the field of health of 194 member states.
Each year, during the session, WHO's activities are reviewed, new goals and tasks are set before the agency. The current session of the World Health Assembly is addressing complex issues related to health sector and measures on addressing them. In particular, discussion of global strategic issues on negative impact of the environment and climate changes to human's health, the road map for addressing them, providing drugs and vaccines, preventing no communicable diseases, health protection of mothers, children.
The 71st Session of the World Health Assembly will continue until 26 May.
