The parliamentary delegation of Uzbekistan led by the First Deputy Chairman of the Senate of the Oliy Majlis Sodik Safoyev met with American congressmen in the House of Representatives of the U.S. Congress, Uzbekistan MFA reports.

During the talks, U.S. lawmakers were informed about the current transformations in Uzbekistan, the course of economic liberalization, the country's new foreign policy, including the policy of good neighborliness in the Central Asian region, as well as the Uzbek side's vision of the state and prospects of cooperation with the United States.

Congressmen were also provided with detailed information about the preparations for the upcoming Presidential Elections. Efforts to organize and conduct voting under generally recognized democratic standards to ensure transparency, fairness and equality in the electoral process were noted.
