A meeting was held in Budapest between Sanjar Valiyev, Director of the Center for Foreign Policy Research and International Initiatives under the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Uzbekistan, and the Ambassador of Uzbekistan, Oybek Shakhavdinov, with Márton Ugrósdy, Deputy State Secretary in the Office of the Prime Minister of Hungary.
The discussion covered topics on the international agenda, regional cooperation, and prospects for the development of bilateral relations.
Particular attention was given to the upcoming Samarkand Summit “Central Asia – EU”, which is expected to serve as an essential dialogue platform and develop new mechanisms for interregional cooperation. The summit is set to address issues related to strengthening economic partnerships, investment collaboration, and the development of infrastructure and energy projects of strategic importance.
Both sides emphasized the importance of a pragmatic approach to advancing relations between the European Union and Central Asian countries based on mutual respect, equality, and consideration of all parties’ interests.
