Delhi hosted meetings of the Chairman of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Uzbekistan Adkham Ikramov with the Minister of State for External Affairs of India Vellamvelly Muraleedharan, the Minister of State for Chemicals & Fertilizers of India Mansukh Mandaviya and others.

The sides discussed the current level of bilateral cooperation in trade, economic and investment spheres, issues of implementation of joint projects in health protection, pharmaceuticals, agriculture, ICT, oil and gas, chemical industry and education.

The sides also discussed the prospects for implementation of projects planned for financing by Export-Import Bank of India.

At the meeting, the sides agreed to hold a workshop in Ahmedabad on November 29, 2019, dedicated to the disclosure of investment opportunities for organization of pharmaceutical production in Uzbekistan with participation of Gujarat companies potentially interested in entering Uzbekistan market.

The priority of establishing cooperation on automatic certification of products through inspection and licensing of production enterprises of Uzbekistan by specialists of Bureau of Indian Standards, as well as mutual recognition of test results and certificates of conformity was noted.

Issue of intensifying cooperation on conducting a joint study to prepare an Agreement on preferential trade between the countries was discussed at the meeting.
