Uzbekistan delegation holds talks in Kabul

Uzbekistan delegation led by Special Representative of the Head of the state for Foreign Policy – Deputy Secretary of the Security Council under the President Abdulaziz Kamilov visited Kabul.

According to Uzbekistan MFA, during the visit, talks were held with the Deputy Prime Ministers of Afghanistan – Mullah Abdul Ghani Baradar and Abdul Salam Hanafi.

The parties discussed prospects for further development and strengthening of cooperation in the trade-economic sphere, as well as the implementation of various infrastructure projects initiated by Uzbekistan in the energy and transport-communication spheres in Afghanistan.

The Afghan side expressed gratitude to the leadership of Uzbekistan for providing humanitarian assistance to the country, as well as efforts to restore the national economy.

Uzbekistan delegation also held talks with Acting Foreign Minister Amir Khan Muttaqi and Acting Interior Minister of Afghanistan Sirajuddin Haqqani.

The parties discussed issues of cooperation in the political sphere, as well as security.
