Uzbekistan delegation attends the XI Eurasian Economic Forum in Verona
On October 25-26, 2018, the XI Eurasian Economic Forum was held on “Innovation art: economics of trust and business diplomacy from the Atlantic to the Pacific Ocean”, in Verona, Italy.
On October 25-26, 2018, the XI Eurasian Economic Forum was held on “Innovation art: economics of trust and business diplomacy from the Atlantic to the Pacific Ocean”, in Verona, Italy.
The business program of the event included discussions on development of economic cooperation between the countries of the Eurasian continent, prospects for development of international trade relations, the possibility of using modern financial instruments, qualitative changes in the energy industry, mining, mechanical engineering, improving logistics and infrastructure, information and digital technology.
The forum was attended by about 1.5 thousand representatives from 40 countries, including business and expert circles, public and political figures, diplomats, experts, journalists, as well as members of governments of Italy and other Eurasian states.
Uzbekistan delegation included the First Deputy Chairman of the Senate of the Oliy Majlis S.Safayev, Chairman of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Uzbekistan A.Ikramov, Ambassador of the Republic of Uzbekistan to Italy O.Akbarov, as well as 18 representatives of business community engaged in production of textiles, medical equipment, construction materials, leather industry, and tourism.
At the forum, the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Uzbekistan and the Italy – Uzbekistan Chamber of Commerce with the assistance of the Embassy of Uzbekistan in Italy organized a special session dedicated to presentation of trade-economic and investment potential of Uzbekistan.
Bilateral meetings were held with Como Chamber of Commerce, as well as with heads of a number of large foreign companies such as Nuovo Pignone, General Medical Merate, Gianni Origoni Grippo Cappelli Partners, Sytco, Stara Glass, Toscana Nastri, Wood, Techno Italia, ST&I Spa, Mitor consulting, Tesmec, and LPL logistics.
As reported by the Press Service of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Uzbekistan, following the meetings, a Cooperation Agreement was signed between the Chambers of Commerce of Uzbekistan and the province of Como (Italy), as well as the Cooperation Agreement with the Italian textile company ST&I Spa, which provides for establishment of cooperation on development of textile industry in Uzbekistan, as well as introduction of advanced Italian experience in this sphere.
