Uzbekistan delegation attends the international conference in Dushanbe

Uzbekistan delegation led by the Minister of Foreign Affairs Abdulaziz Kamilov attended the high-level conference “International and regional cooperation on countering terrorism and its financing through illicit drug trafficking and organized crime” in the city of Dushanbe.

On May 17, Uzbekistan delegation led by the Minister of Foreign Affairs Abdulaziz Kamilov attended the high-level conference “International and regional cooperation on countering terrorism and its financing through illicit drug trafficking and organized crime” in the city of Dushanbe.

The conference is organized by the Government of Tajikistan, the UN and the European Union.

In his speech, the head of Uzbekistan delegation informed about the results of the 11th Ministerial Review Meeting of the Memorandum of Understanding on regional cooperation in drug control, held in early May, during which the growing link between illicit drug trafficking and terrorism was highlighted, including money laundering to finance terrorist activities.

Following the high-level international conference, which was attended by representatives of Central Asian countries, countries adjacent to the region, as well as Asia and Europe, international and regional structures, the Dushanbe Declaration was adopted.
