Uzbekistan delegation attends the Foreign Ministers Meeting of India – Central Asia Dialogue

Minister of Foreign Affairs of Uzbekistan Abdulaziz Kamilov took part in the third meeting of the foreign ministers of India – Central Asia Dialogue, in Delhi.

According to Uzbekistan MFA, the meeting participants discussed the current issues of further strengthening ties between India and Central Asia in politics, economics, digitalization, cultural and humanitarian direction. Views were exchanged on the current dynamics of regional cooperation, measures to jointly counter threats and challenges to stability.

Minister Abdulaziz Kamilov noted the importance of more fully disclosing the potential of interaction in the “India – Central Asia” format, strengthening the connectivity of the two regions, including through the formation of stable trade, economic, transport and communication ties, creating a green corridor for mutual access of products to the markets of India and Central Asia, creating a platform for IT specialists.

It was proposed to establish an analytical platform “Forum of Analytical Centers in India and Central Asia” with annual events to develop proposals for regional development.

The main attention was paid to the situation in Afghanistan. The need was noted for the development of a post-conflict strategy concerning this country to prevent its international isolation.

Issues of providing humanitarian assistance to the socio-economic reconstruction of Afghanistan were discussed.

Following the meeting, a Joint Statement was adopted.
