The Ministry of Tourism and Sports hosted an open dialogue dedicated to popularizing chess in Uzbekistan, strengthening the activities of chess schools and expanding the ranks of international grandmasters.

The event was attended by Deputy Prime Minister of the Republic of Uzbekistan, Chairman of Uzbekistan Chess Federation Aziz Abdukhakimov, chess coaches, leading grandmasters, parents of athletes and media representatives.

Uzbekistan is included in the list of contenders for hosting the World Chess Olympiad in 2026. Perhaps this prestigious sports forum will be held in Samarkand.

India and Hungary also claim the right to host the Olympiad.
