Uzbekistan Cinematographers’ Success at “Golden Knight” International Film Forum

Russia’s Grozny hosted the XXXIII “Golden Knight” International Film Forum.

For 32 years, the film forum has been held over 100 times in Russia, Belarus, Ukraine, Serbia, Bulgaria, Moldova, Bosnia and Herzegovina. In addition to cinematography, the subjects were theater, literature, music, and fine arts.  More than 10 thousand cultural figures from 60 countries participated in the forums.

Cinematographers from 20 countries, including Russia, Armenia, Belarus, the United Kingdom, Germany, Israel, Iran, Spain, Kazakhstan, Canada, Kyrgyzstan, Serbia, Romania, Türkiye, Uzbekistan, France, Switzerland, presented their works in the categories “Fiction, documentary, and animated films”, “Debut”, “Student film”, “Children's film”.

The jury of the film forum included well-known experts from Russia, Argentina, Bulgaria, Germany, Spain, Iran, Kyrgyzstan, Northern Macedonia, Serbia, and Türkiye.

In addition to competitive works, the forum hosted premieres of films by famous directors and discussions with audiences, scientific conferences, creative meetings with representatives of several film schools, and master classes.

The competition program of the forum included four films (debut, short, full-length, and documentary films) by students of the branch of the Russian State University of Cinematography named after S. Gerasimov in Tashkent. 

The special jury award was awarded to the films “Man”, “The Road to the Mirage” and “Scotch”. The latter was recognized as the best debut film and awarded a bronze diploma.

These films were presented at other prestigious international film festivals and were highly appreciated.
