Uzbekistan’s diplomats held a meeting in Beijing with the leadership of China Silk Corporation with the participation of representatives of the Committee for the Development of Sericulture and Wool Industry of Uzbekistan.

The meeting is aimed at discussing the issues of development of the silk industry of the country, attracting modern knowledge and technologies to the industry, and expanding the volume of domestic products.

The parties discussed the possibilities of implementing joint projects to further develop cooperation, improve the quality of Uzbek silk and expand its export to world markets.

During the talks, the parties also exchanged views on the organization of training courses with the broad involvement of specialists from large Chinese companies, educational and scientific institutions to further improve the quality of raw silk produced in Uzbekistan, the organization of special storage facilities for storage and expansion of wholesale and retail trade in Uzbek silk.

Following the talks, the parties agreed to develop specific project proposals on the discussed issues and to hold additional negotiations soon.
