Uzbekistan, China specialists interested in developing new areas of cooperation

In recent years, Uzbekistan has focused on developing the electrical industry, the efficiency of industrial enterprises has increased, and measures have been taken to provide them with comprehensive support.

The Presidential Resolution “On additional measures to create favorable conditions for further development of the electrical industry and increase the investment and export potential of the industry” of May 30, 2019, serves as an essential guide to the action. Strengthening international cooperation, attracting foreign direct investment and modern technologies, and deep processing of local raw materials yield positive results.

The visit of President Shavkat Mirziyoyev to China on January 23-25 will mark the beginning of an essential period in strengthening cooperation between the two countries in all fields.

It is also symbolic that the first state visit of the President in 2024 is to China.

Cooperation between Uzbekistan and Chinese companies in developing the electrical industry is enhancing. Head of the Press Service of Uzeltechsanoat Association Namoz Tolipov noted that it is beneficial for enterprises to strengthen relations with Chinese companies.

– A delegation of the Association led by Chairman of the Board Mirziyod Yunusov has visited China, – N. Talipov says. – Talks were held with representatives of large Chinese companies to establish investment cooperation. In particular, to get acquainted with the work process, share experiences, and find new opportunities for cooperation, the delegation visited the headquarters of the GCL Group in Suzhou.

China has large conglomerates in electrical engineering, electronics, semiconductors, and green energy. GCL Group is a diversified Chinese conglomerate producing polysilicon, semiconductor wafers, solar panels, modules, and panels. The company was founded in 1990 and is one of the world’s largest polysilicon manufacturers. The annual production capacity is 120 thousand tons. It has six industrial clusters and exports products to more than 70 countries.

Talks were also held with the Vice President of GCL Tech, a member of the GCL Group. Representatives of China expressed interest in developing cooperation in new areas. It was decided to accelerate the development of joint projects and move on to the next stage. It was proposed to visit one of the company’s factories in Hefei city.

This industry plays a vital role in economic development, and cooperation is equally beneficial not only for Uzbekistan specialists, but also for representatives of China.
