The mining industry and geology play a significant role in the development of Uzbekistan’s economy. The strengthening of the mineral resource base, the effective development of natural resources, and the introduction of advanced technologies in their processing are taking this industry to a new level.

The expansion of international cooperation, particularly the exchange of experience with leading foreign companies and the implementation of joint projects, is a priority in this area.

At the meeting, Minister of Mining and Geology Bobur Islomov and senior officials of the Ministry discussed prospects for further cooperation with a delegation led by Liu Guosheng, Head of China Coal Resources Development Group.

The parties stressed that mutually beneficial cooperation will serve the development of not only the coal industry, but also the entire mining industry. At the same time, it is essential to implement joint programs to improve energy efficiency, ensure environmentally sustainable production, and develop human resources.

At the meeting, the parties exchanged views on improving the efficiency of coal mining and processing through advanced technologies and on introducing innovations into the industry in cooperation with China Coal Resources Development Group.

The parties signed a Memorandum of Understanding to expand cooperation and implement joint projects.

The memorandum will lay the groundwork for the widespread adoption of innovative technologies in the mining industry, increase production capacity, and ensure the rational use of mineral resources.
