An Uzbekistan – China Business Forum was held in Shanghai with the support of the Embassy and Consulate General of Uzbekistan, bringing together representatives of more than 20 ministries, sectors, and regional authorities, over 500 Chinese companies, as well as a delegation of Uzbekistan led by Deputy Prime Minister Jamshid Khodjayev.

Speaking at the opening of the forum, the head of the Uzbekistan delegation noted that the development of relations between China and Uzbekistan in recent years has opened up great opportunities for both countries, and that interregional cooperation in infrastructure, energy, agriculture, and high technology has had a significant impact on the economic development of the two nations.

The forum participants were presented with investment project proposals in Uzbekistan, including in Namangan, Surkhandarya, Fergana, and Jizzakh regions, as well as information on the conditions created, ongoing reforms, economic incentives, and tax and utility benefits for investors.

As part of the forum, G2B and B2B meetings were held, resulting in agreements with Chinese companies on the implementation of investment projects in various sectors, as well as an agreement to organize business missions of Chinese entrepreneurs to the regions of Uzbekistan.
