Uzbekistan – China: Bilateral cooperation reaches strategic level

A delegation from the People’s Republic of China, led by Liu Jianchao, Member of the CPC Central Committee and Minister of the International Department, visited the Senate of the Oliy Majlis.

At the meeting with Chairperson of the Senate of the Oliy Majlis, Tanzila Narbayeva, it was emphasized that, thanks to mutual trust and the friendly relations between the leaders of the two countries, cooperation between Uzbekistan and China has reached a strategic level.

The two sides also discussed further development of the strategic partnership and the deepening of inter-parliamentary ties between Uzbekistan and China. The importance of parliamentary cooperation as a key mechanism for strengthening bilateral relations was noted.

An exchange of views also took place on the prospects for practical bilateral dialogue within the framework of the upcoming 150th Assembly of the Inter-Parliamentary Union, to be held in the capital of Uzbekistan.

In turn, Liu Jianchao highly praised the achievements in bilateral relations and expressed China’s readiness to continue active cooperation with Uzbekistan across all areas, including the economy, culture, tourism, and education.

Following the meeting, both sides reaffirmed their commitment to further strengthening the strategic partnership between the two countries, as well as deepening inter-parliamentary relations, which play an important role in advancing shared strategic objectives.
