The Embassy of Uzbekistan in China has organized the Uzbekistan – China Agri-Food Business Forum. About 80 entrepreneurs participated in the event.
Chinese businesspeople highly appreciated the economic reforms in Uzbekistan.
At the forum, an agreement was reached on the joint implementation of developments in seed production, animal husbandry, water-saving technologies, product processing, restoration of land conditions, and projects for the cultivation of fruit trees, the creation of greenhouses, the development of vaccines against animal diseases, mushroom cultivation, the creation of agro logistic centers, the launch of innovative laboratories, the installation of smart management systems for gardens and vineyards, increasing the yield of melons, growing a new generation of cereals and legumes.
According to the Ministry of Agriculture of the Republic of Uzbekistan, in recent years the trade turnover between Uzbekistan and China has increased by almost 40 percent, investment projects have increased 5 times, and the number of Uzbekistan - Chinese joint ventures has increased three times.
Meetings on the development of agricultural sciences were held with 34 partner organizations within the framework of the forum. Agreements were signed on introducing China’s achievements in Uzbekistan’s agricultural sector, especially in food safety, and new technologies that increase yields.
