In recent years, people of Uzbekistan have been widely celebrating October 21, the Uzbek Language Day. On this day, it was given state status as the “Holiday of the Uzbek Language".
Since early morning, the Alley of Litterateurs in Tashkent has been crowded with compatriots and representatives of various organizations. Flowers were laid at the monument to the great poet as a symbol of respect and honor to the great ancestor, who significantly glorified the native language globally.
The solemn event was attended by representatives of the Administration of the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan, the Senate of the Oliy Majlis, the Legislative Chamber, ministries, and agencies.
The holiday of the Uzbek language is widely celebrated as a holiday of spirituality, people, and literature, says the famous poet, Advisor to the Chairman of the Writers Union of Uzbekistan Salim Ashur.
– The noble tradition of laying flowers at the monument to a great thinker such as Hazrat Navoi encourages us to value our native language increasingly. Centers for studying the Uzbek language are being organized in countries. The number of foreign youth wishing to learn our native language is growing. The status of the Uzbek language is becoming increasingly vital worldwide. All this is the practical result of good deeds carried out under the leadership of the President for the development of the Uzbek language.
Literary conferences, festivals, enlightenment, and festive events will be held on the Alley of Litterateurs throughout the day.
