Uzbekistan celebrates the 100th anniversary of Heydar Aliyev’s birth

Uzbekistan is widely celebrating the 100th anniversary of the devoted son of Azerbaijan, statesman, and public figure Heydar Aliyev’s birth. Enlightenment events dedicated to his life and work, book presentations, photo exhibitions, premieres of documentaries, and concert programs are held. An event was held on the square near the bas-relief of Heydar Aliyev in Tashkent.

Representatives of various ministries and agencies, national cultural centers, art organizations, creative intelligentsia, and students attended the event.

Chairman of the Committee on Interethnic Relations and Friendly Ties with Foreign Countries Rustambek Kurbanov spoke in detail about the role of the national leader of the Azerbaijani people, Heydar Aliyev, in achieving the independence of Azerbaijan, his courage, merits in strengthening friendship and brotherhood between our peoples.

Huseyn Guliyev, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Azerbaijan to Uzbekistan, noted that the celebration of the 100th anniversary of Heydar Aliyev’s birth in Uzbekistan shows how deep the friendly relations between the two peoples are.

Chairman of the Union of Writers of Uzbekistan, People’s Poet of Uzbekistan Sirojiddin Sayyid, said that the friendly relations between the two peoples are reflected in the intensive development of literary and enlightenment ties.

The participants of the event laid flowers at the bas-relief of the national leader of the Azerbaijani people, famous statesman Heydar Aliyev.

As part of the celebrations, the Tashkent House of Photography opened a photo exhibition, “Eternal Friendship, Brotherhood”, jointly organized by the Academy of Arts of Uzbekistan, the Embassy of Azerbaijan in Uzbekistan, and the Azerbaijan National Cultural Center.

Enlightenment events dedicated to the 100th anniversary of the national leader of the Azerbaijani people, Heydar Aliyev’s birth, continue throughout the country.
