A gala event dedicated to June 27, the Press and Media Workers Day, was organized at a high level and in a new format in Tashkent.

Leading journalists, representatives of government and public organizations and the media sphere, accredited foreign media workers, media managers, and teachers in journalism were invited to the ceremony.

The Press Secretary of the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan, Sherzod Asadov, read the festive congratulations of the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev to the press and media workers.

In accordance with the decree of the Head of state, a group of journalists were awarded orders and medals of the country for their work in implementing democratic reforms aimed at establishing freedom of speech and press in our country, ensuring the constitutional rights of our people in the information sphere, and strengthening the principles of openness and transparency in state and public administration.

At the gala event, the Chairperson of the Senate of the Oliy Majlis of the Republic of Uzbekistan Tanzila Narbayeva presented awards to their owners.
