Uzbekistan celebrates People’s Friendship Day

Uzbekistan celebrates People’s Friendship Day, established at the initiative of President Shavkat Mirziyoyev as a national holiday.

By the decree of the Head of the state, on the occasion of the holiday, celebrated in the country for the first time, a group of compatriots was awarded high state awards – orders, medals and badges.

A solemn ceremony of presenting the awards took place in Tashkent. It was attended by representatives of several ministries and agencies, public organizations, national cultural centers, our compatriots, making a worthy contribution to strengthening interethnic harmony and friendship.

President Shavkat Mirziyoyev’s congratulatory message for the people of Uzbekistan was read out by the Chairperson of the Senate of the Oliy Majlis of the Republic of Uzbekistan Tanzila Narbayeva.

The Chairperson of the Senate presented orders and medals, as well as badges “Khalqlar Dustligi” to the representatives of the national cultural centers of the country, devoted and selfless compatriots.

The solemn event was attended by the Advisor to the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan Abdujabar Abduvakhitov.
