International Forum of Guides 2019, timed to celebration of the International Tourist Guide Day, kicked off in Tashkent.

Guides, tour operators, museologists from various regions of the country, international experts and other specialists of tourism industry are attending the forum on “Silk Road: Cooperation without boundaries”.

At the opening ceremony of the forum, the Acting Chairman of the State Committee for Tourism Development of the Republic of Uzbekistan Abdulaziz Akkulov emphasized that at the beginning of this year, the Association of Guides was created in Uzbekistan, which became a long-awaited event for representatives of the industry and the entire tourism sector.

The Association of Guides was established by joint efforts of the State Committee for Tourism Development, the Educational and Consulting Center of Tourism and guides of the country. The Association will unite participants of Uzbekistan tourism market, will serve to creation of favorable socio-economic conditions for guides’ activities.

An international scientific-practical conference kicked off within the framework of the forum. At the event, international experts are delivering speeches on the theory and practice of guides. In particular, President of the Spanish Confederation of Official Tourist Guides Almudena Cencerrado Rodríguez presented information on her country’s experience in combating illegal activity of guides.

On the first day of the forum, a Memorandum of Cooperation was signed between the Association of Guides of Uzbekistan and the National Association of Tourist Guides of France, India and Spain.

Awarding ceremony of “Uzbekistan – a country of tourism” photo competition winners was held. A roundtable discussion was organized on “Legal basis for improving the guides’ activities”.
