Uzbekistan pays special attention not only to citizens living in the country, but also to those in difficult situations in other countries. This is the result of the consistent policy pursued over the past four years to ensure human rights and freedoms in the country.
Under the instructions of the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan, in 2019, 220 citizens, women and children, were brought back from Syria and Iraq within the framework of Mehr Humanitarian Operation.
Measures to return our compatriots who are in camps in the war-torn regions of the Middle East are constantly being carried out by the special services.
Within the framework of the next stage of Mehr Operation, which is carried out under the direct control of the Head of the state, 98 people (25 women and 73 children), were repatriated from the ongoing hostilities in Syria. It should be noted that 14 children are real orphans.
These people, lost on an uneven life path and in a difficult situation in other countries, have lived for years in a state of social insecurity, deprived not only of social protection, which is a very simple form of human rights, but also of the simplest living conditions.

These people are now housed in a well-equipped medical facility, provided with hot meals, clothing and all other necessary amenities. They are provided with medical and psychological assistance. Children are placed in preschool institutions, secondary schools, and women are being employed. They are returning to a healthy, peaceful life. Necessary conditions are created for their full adaptation. Appropriate work will be carried out to issue passports, birth certificates and other necessary documents.
Three stages of Mehr Humanitarian Campaign have been implemented in Uzbekistan. This operation is based on the principle of ensuring the right to freedom on the day of the adoption of the Constitution of the Republic of Uzbekistan.
