A solemn meeting of the members of the Uzbekistan national team, who won 21 medals at the Asian U22 Boxing Championships, held in Thailand’s Bangkok, was held at the Tashkent International Airport named after Islam Karimov.

24 members of Uzbekistan national team performed at the tournament, which was attended by representatives of more than 20 countries of the continent. 21 of them won medals.

Deputy Chairman of the National Olympic Committee, First Deputy Chairman of Uzbekistan Boxing Federation Sakent Polatov, representatives of the Ministry of Youth Policy and Sports, the High School of Sportsmanship, the general public, coaches, parents and relatives of athletes who took part in the meeting noted that an important factor in such a great success is conditions created by the state for athletes.

Uzbekistan boxers won 9 gold, 1 silver and 1 bronze medals, and female boxers won 5 gold, 3 silver and 2 bronze medals. So, according to the results of the championships, the national team of Uzbekistan took first place in the team event.

By decision of the Organizing Committee, a member of Uzbekistan national team, Nurislom Ismoilov, was recognized as the best boxer of the championships, which once again demonstrated that Uzbekistan is rich in young talents.
