State Committee of Uzbekistan for Tourism Development has held the First Uzbekistan – Belarus Tourism Forum via videoconference.

According to State Committee for Tourism Development, the online meeting was held within the framework of Tashkent International Tourism Fair “Tourism on the Silk Road 2020”. It was attended by the heads of the State Committee for Tourism Development of Uzbekistan and the Sports and Tourism Ministry of Belarus, as well as representatives of the tourism business of the two countries.

Deputy Chairman of the State Committee for Tourism Development Ulugbek Azamov acquainted the Belarusian partners with the tourism potential of Uzbekistan, the work being carried out to create new tourist destinations and opportunities, places for recreation, gastronomy, handicrafts, as well as the conditions created for a comfortable stay of tourists in the country.

During the panel discussion between business circles, tour operators and other entities of Uzbekistan and Belarus tourism industry, a detailed exchange of experience and discussion of proposals for the restoration of tourist trips, the creation of a single tourist product and organization of combined tours took place.

Following the forum, the parties also agreed to strengthen the normative-legal framework of cooperation between the two countries in tourism, continue close work to increase tourist exchange, as well as work out the organization of combined tours in two directions for tourists from Europe and Asia, including visits to Uzbekistan and Belarus.
