Uzbekistan, Belarus to launch three joint film projects in 2021

Private film studios of Uzbekistan with the support of Uzbekkino National Agency are planning to start shooting several films in Belarus, where they will be assisted by Belarusfilm National Film Studio.

“The films that we will start to create will strengthen the powerful friendly foundation that already exists”, said Firdavs Abdukhalikov, Director General of Uzbekkino National Agency.

“The film studio hosts representatives of three Uzbek films”, says Vladimir Karachevsky, Director General of Belarusfilm National Film Studio. – This is a film directed by Akbar Bekturdiyev “Uzbek Woman” about a girl sniper, 90 percent of which is planned to be filmed in Belarus. The second project will be a motion picture about the 1916 Jizzakh Uprisings. Some episodes of war scenes will be captured in Belarus and Saint Petersburg exteriors and interiors to it. Besides, we discussed the issue of co-producing another story. It is about the Hero of the Soviet Union Mamadali Topvaldiyev, who fought the Nazi invaders in the rear as a Belarusian partisan.

Film crews of future films during their stay in Belarus will visit locations for filming in Minsk, Gomel, Bobruisk, Brest, on the field site of the film studio.

Until recently, the last joint film project of Uzbekistan and Belarus was the “Unforgotten Song” film (1973) directed by Ravil Batyrov.
