Uzbekistan, Belarus develop cooperation in science and technology

During the talks between the leaders of the Republic of Uzbekistan and the Republic of Belarus, the Minister of Innovative Development Ibrokhim Abdurakhmonov presented information on the work carried out in science and technology between the two countries.

The minister noted that 15 projects implemented within the framework of joint scientific competitions, which are undergoing the stage of commercialization, have been completed. He also said that within the framework of the second round of joint competitions, 30 scientific projects worth $2 million were financed. Over the past three years, internships for 200 Uzbekistan’s young scientists and researchers were organized at research institutes in Belarus.

During the talks, a Memorandum and a Program of Scientific, Technical and Innovative Cooperation for 2022-2023 were signed between the Ministry of Innovative Development of the Republic of Uzbekistan and the National Academy of Sciences of Belarus.

The parties agreed to continue supporting joint scientific projects, organizing scientific events, improving the qualifications of scientists, developing scientific infrastructure and implementing technology transfer within the framework of the scientific and technical cooperation program between the two countries.

The Memorandum signed with the National Academy of Sciences of Belarus provides for the expansion of cooperation of any format between scientific teams, the establishment of mutual exchanges of scientists and researchers, the exchange of scientific information, the joint development of publishing activities, and the support of scientific and practical events.
