Uzbekistan, Bangladesh strengthen cooperation

Chairman of the Senate of the Oliy Majlis Tanzila Narbayeva met with the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the People’s Republic of Bangladesh to Uzbekistan Mohammad Monirul Islam.

The parties discussed all areas of cooperation between Uzbekistan and Bangladesh, particularly issues of strengthening interparliamentary, political, trade, economic, tourism, cultural, and humanitarian ties.

It was noted that there are enough opportunities to increase the achieved indicators further. The parties focused on cooperation between the legislative bodies of Uzbekistan and Bangladesh and the effective use of the possibilities of parliamentary control to implement the agreements reached.

It was proposed to develop a plan of practical measures, including implementing measures to strengthen cooperation between the chambers of commerce and industry of the two countries, establish industrial collaboration, and organize exhibitions and fairs of industrial products.

Views were exchanged on the launch of textile clusters and production projects in free economic zones of Uzbekistan, and the implementation of joint projects, taking into account the great potential of Uzbekistan in the pharmaceutical field.

The Ambassador noted that he would make every effort to develop cooperation between the two countries further.
