On 27 January this year, a virtual business forum of exporting organizations of Uzbekistan with potential business partners from Azerbaijan was held.

The parties highly assessed the dynamics of the development of Uzbekistan – Azerbaijan cooperation, which in recent years have risen to the level of strategic partnership. It was emphasized that all these processes are based on a constant and trusting dialogue at the highest level.

Over the past year, the parties managed to increase the immunity of bilateral trade relations from the likelihood of the impact of the current crisis in the global economy. In this context, they expressed deep satisfaction with the fact that, despite the coronavirus pandemic, the trade turnover between Uzbekistan and Azerbaijan increased by 12% compared to 2019.

At the same time, the parties agreed to make additional efforts to further promote mutually beneficial cooperation in trade, economic, and investment exchange.

Following the official opening ceremony, the forum continued its work in plenary sessions, during which B2B meetings were held between heads of companies specializing in construction, light and food industries, agriculture, etc.

The forum intended to give impetus to the development of industrial cooperation and the creation of joint ventures in Uzbekistan and Azerbaijan.
