Recently, members of the delegation led by the Minister of Economy of Azerbaijan Mikayil Jabbarov visited the Committee for the Development of Sericulture and Karakul Breeding and held a practical dialogue with the Chairman of the Committee Bakhrom Sharipov and senior officials of the associations Yaylov Khujaligini Rivojlantirish and Uzbekipaksanoat.

According to the agreements reached during the talks on cooperation, representatives of the Uzbekipaksanoat Association, led by the head of Khorezm regional department of the Committee for the Development of Sericulture and Karakul Breeding, Abdurashid Abdullayev, left for Azerbaijan. Members of the delegation got acquainted with the activities of the weaving enterprise Azerkhalcha.

The head of Azerkhalcha enterprise, Emin Efendiyev, presented information to the guests about the social role of Azerbaijani sericulture, the opportunities provided for the development of the sphere, and Azerbaijani methods for the production of silk carpets.

At the meeting, an agreement was reached on cooperation with Uzbekistan to increase the volume of cocoons, the area of mulberry plantations, the production of silk carpets, the mechanization of the sericulture industry, as well as conducting joint research in sericulture.
