Cooperation with Azerbaijan in sericulture began after the two countries’ leaders signed a memorandum at the Summit of the Organization of Turkic States in 2019.

Sericulture clusters are being organized in Azerbaijan, deep processing of cocoons is being introduced, and a forage base is being developed.

Uzbekistan delegation led by the Chairman of the Uzbekipaksanoat Association O. Djumayev visits Azerbaijan. With the support of the Association, a building for the Uzbekistan - Azerbaijan joint venture Az Silk is being completed in the Barda district. Only in spring this year, the enterprise produced 102 tons of cocoons in seven regions of Azerbaijan, using the experience of Uzbekistan. In Barda district, 80 people got permanent jobs. Colleagues from Azerbaijan are advised by 15 Uzbek specialists in agricultural technology and cocoon processing.
