Important tournaments for Uzbekistan athletes are held in February.

Uzbekistan boxers are participating in International Boxing Tournament STRANDJA in Bulgaria, and the talented chess player Nodirbek Abdusattarov – in WR Chess Masters Tournament in Germany.

The 5th round of the WR Chess Masters Tournament has been completed, in which Uzbekistan’s player played black against Vincent Keimer from Germany. On the 23rd move, Nodirbek was close to victory, but one wrong move led to the Keimer’s victory. In the 6th round, N. Abdusattarov will meet with Dommaraju Gukesh from India.

12 boxers from Uzbekistan have successfully passed the first qualifying round of the STRANDJA Tournament. Abdumalik Khalakov, Ruslan Abdullayev, Nurislom Ismoilov, Mujibullo Tursunov, Saidjamshid Jafarov, Mirazizbek Mirzakhalilov, Asadkhoja Muydinkhodjayev, Shakhzod Muzaffarov, Bekzod Khamidov, Shokhjahon Abdullayev, Odiljon Aslonov and Madiyor Saidrakhimov became the winners. The winner of the Olympic Games Bakhodir Jalolov and the winner of the Olympic Games in Rio Khasanboy Dusmatov will fight today. They will fight against American Joshua Edwards and Salotskikh Dzianis respectively.

The tournament will run until February 26, and the WR Chess Masters – until February 25.
