On August 19, the World Athletics Championships will begin in Budapest, Hungary.

49 sets of medals will be played at the championships. Athletes who won gold medals during the competition will receive $70,000, winners of silver medals - $35,000, and bronze medalists – $22,000.

Almost 2,000 athletes from 200 countries, including athletes from Uzbekistan, will compete for victory at these prestigious competitions.

Members of the Uzbekistan national athletics team Yekaterina Voronina will perform in the 100-meter hurdles, high jump, shot throw, 200-meter run, long jump, javelin throw, and 800-meter run. Sharifa Davronova will compete in the triple jump, Anvar Anvarov in the long jump, Safina Sadullayeva in the high jump, and Yekaterina Tunguskova in the marathon program.

The championships will run until August 27.
