The championships were attended by more than 700 athletes.

Uzbekistan’s fencers won bronze medals in the team championship and took the third place. In the quarterfinals, Z.Daibekova, A.Usnatdinova and S.Ismailova defeated the Singapore team, but lost in the semifinals to the Korean team. 

The team of swordsmen first won the team of India, but in the quarterfinals lost to the team of Japan and took the eighth place in the team championships.
