According to the Ministry of Culture of the Republic of Uzbekistan, vocalists and musicians from Uzbekistan successfully performed and won prizes at the fifth international maqom festival “Mugam alemi”, in Azerbaijan.

Scientists-musicologists, singers and musicians, art collectives from many countries took part in the festival.

Senior teacher of the State Conservatory of Uzbekistan Ilyos Arabov won the first place in “The best solo performance of maqom” nomination. In the nomination “Instrumental performance of maqom”, the third place was taken by the artist of the song and dance ensemble “Navbakhor” of the Creative Union of Artistic Collectives of Uzbekistan Azamat Ergashev and Otajon Akromov, student of Bukhara College of Arts named after Mukhtar Ashrafi.
