13:19 / 2025-09-22

A delegation from Uzbekistan, led by the First Deputy Chairman of the Senate of the Oliy Majlis Sodiq Safoyev, met with representatives of the political, economic, and academic circles of the U.S. state of Utah.

At a meeting with Utah Senate President Stuart Adams, the parties discussed prospects for expanding bilateral cooperation, attracting investment, and implementing innovative projects.

Proposals were put forward to introduce Utah’s experience in Uzbekistan, including joint initiatives in the mining sector, the extraction and processing of rare metals, as well as the production of batteries and semiconductors for electric transport.

Particular attention was given to environmental issues: the parties considered the possibility of applying Utah’s scientific and methodological expertise to address the problems of the Aral Sea region and to implement joint projects on artemia cultivation.

As part of the visit, meetings were also held with the heads of the state’s universities, during which academic exchange programs and educational projects were discussed.

The parties expressed their readiness to strengthen cooperation between Uzbekistan and the state of Utah in the fields of economy, education, and culture.
