Uzbekistan and the United States representatives discuss issues of private financing for the development of transport infrastructure, geology, and digitalization

The Minister of Investment, Industry, and Trade of the Republic of Uzbekistan, Laziz Kudratov, met with the Acting Special Coordinator for the Partnership for Global Infrastructure and Investment of the United States, Helaina Matza.

The parties discussed issues of attracting private financing to projects to develop transport infrastructure, geology, and digitalization.

The initiative was launched by the United States at the G7 summit in June 2022, the ministry reports. As part of the initiative, the United States will allocate up to $200 billion over five years through grants, federal funding, and attracting private sector investment, and the G7 countries will allocate up to $600 billion. The World Bank and private investment firms are involved in implementing the initiative.

Views were exchanged on a wide range of relevant issues of bilateral cooperation.

Following the meeting, a firm commitment to further deepening and expanding cooperation in all discussed areas was confirmed.
