Uzbekistan and Thailand celebrate the Day of Establishment of Diplomatic Relations

The Kingdom of Thailand is situated in Southeast Asia. It spans the central part of the Indochinese Peninsula and the northern part of the Malay Peninsula. Bangkok is its capital.

The government system of Thailand is a constitutional monarchy. The current Constitution was adopted on September 27, 1997. The Head of state is the king. The legislative body is a bicameral parliament, namely the National Assembly. The executive branch is the government, led by the Prime Minister. The official language is Thai. The official currency is the baht.

Thailand has a robust educational system, offering compulsory free education for children aged 7-15. Since 1977, a new system of general education has been in place, with primary and secondary schools each spanning six years. The medium of instruction is Thai. The country is home to renowned institutions such as Chulalongkorn, Thammasat, and Kasetsart universities, along with several institutes and colleges.

Major newspapers and magazines, such as “Bangkok Post”, “Daily News”, “Nation”, “Thailand”, “The Country of Siam”, “Siam Weekly News”, and “Xinxiang Jibao” are published in Thai, Chinese, and English languages.

Radio broadcasting has been operating since 1938, and television broadcasting since 1955. The National Broadcasting Service and Thailand Television are controlled by the government.

The Thai News Agency (TNA), founded on June 16, 1977, is the main organization responsible for producing, collecting, analyzing, and transmitting news through radio, television, the Internet, social networks, and various media.

Thailand recognized the independence of the Republic of Uzbekistan on December 26, 1991. Diplomatic relations between the two countries were established on May 6, 1992. In recent years, practical cooperation has been established between Uzbekistan and Thailand both at the bilateral level and within international structures. More than 20 projects with the participation of Thai investments are being implemented in Uzbekistan, and six companies with 100% Thai capital operate. Investors in this country are increasingly showing interest in Uzbekistan.
