Uzbekistan and Tajikistan to intensify industrial cooperation

The Ministry for Foreign Trade of the Republic of Uzbekistan hosted a meeting with the delegation of Tajikistan led by the Minister of Industry and New Technologies of the Republic of Tajikistan Shavkat Bobozoda.

On August 18, 2018, within the framework of the state visit of the President of the Republic of Tajikistan Emomali Rahmon to the Republic of Uzbekistan, negotiations with the delegation of Tajikistan led by the Minister of Industry and New Technologies of the Republic of Tajikistan Shavkat Bobozoda with the aim of strengthening trade, economic and cooperative partnership between the two countries were held at the Ministry for Foreign Trade of the Republic of Uzbekistan.

Representatives of large industry associations and companies of the two countries, operating in the mining and metallurgical, textile, construction, fruit and vegetable, pharmaceutical, electrical, transport, trade, oil and gas and other areas, attended the meeting.

Prospective directions of cooperation in industrial and commercial sectors, improvement of logistics, preparation of investment and trade agreements, as well as opening of joint ventures were discussed at the meeting.

As participants of the meeting noted, such a dialogue helps to establish close cooperation between the enterprises of the two countries. The two sides emphasized their commitment to provide all kinds of support and promote the establishment of cooperation in the spheres of industry and trade.

As reported by the Press Service of the Ministry for Foreign Trade, the sides reached an agreement on further studying and development of proposals on enhancing cooperation between the industrial enterprises of Uzbekistan and Tajikistan.
