Experts led by Eldor Tulyakov, Head of the Development Strategy Center, are in Sweden to study advanced foreign experience, in particular, the experience of research centers of European countries, to establish cooperation with leading think tanks.
During the visit, it is planned to hold several meetings with politicians, members of parliament, diplomatic corps and business representatives, as well as experts of research institutes and analytical institutions, who are interested in the processes in Uzbekistan and the region.

According to the Development Strategy Center, on October 31, the delegation of the Center met with Dario Soto-Abril, CEO of Global Water Partnership, in Stockholm, the capital of Sweden.
The meeting was organized with the support of the Embassy of the Republic of Uzbekistan in the Kingdom of Sweden and the Representative Office of the OSCE in Uzbekistan. Mr. Tulyakov informed about reforms being implemented in Uzbekistan on ecology, environmental protection, effective use of natural and water resources and raising the awareness of the population in this regard. It was noted that proposals and ideas put forward by the Head of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev and the government play an important role in this.
Dario Soto-Abril, Chief Executive Officer of Global Water Partnership, spoke about the importance of effective use of water resources, and that this process is directly related to socio-economic development, in particular, the organization implements various projects with more than seventy countries of the world, and stated that alongside with that, there are also plans to launch projects with partners in Uzbekistan.

In turn, Dario Soto-Abril gave a positive assessment and expressed his full support for the reforms being carried out in Uzbekistan for environmental protection, effective use of water, land and other resources. In particular, he drew attention to the fact that several activities are being implemented aimed at increasing the awareness of not only public organizations, but also non-governmental organizations, civil society institutions, public representatives, and through them – the population.
In addition, Dario Soto-Abril specially recognized the active pragmatic foreign policy of Uzbekistan, especially the initiatives that promote the effective use of water resources at the regional level, the development of cross-border cooperation, and the development of cooperation between countries on the effective use of water.
It should be noted that ecology and environmental protection, rational use of water resources are fully reflected in the UN Sustainable Development Goals, and Uzbekistan, along with other countries in the world, took a commitment to contribute to sustainable, broad-based and consistent economic growth, social integration and environmental protection, as well as help to ensure peace and security on the planet.
Following the meeting, the parties agreed to implement joint projects on ecology, the environment, effective use of natural and water resources. The sides agreed to organize various trainings aimed at improving the skills and abilities of state and non-governmental organizations, civil society institutions and the private sector operating in this field.
