The delegation of the Ministry of Justice of Sweden, which arrived in Uzbekistan on an official visit, visited the Ministry of Justice of Uzbekistan.

The Minister of Justice Akbar Tashkulov met with the State Secretary of the Ministry of Justice of Sweden Anders Hall, and Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Sweden Tomas Danestad.

Mr. Tashkulov informed the guests on how the Ministry pursues a unified state policy in lawmaking, protects the legitimate interests of citizens, coordinates the activities of legal services of government bodies and organizations, and provides legal advice to the population.

In turn, Mr. Hall highly appreciated the achievements of the Ministry of Justice of the Republic of Uzbekistan and briefly spoke about the activities of the same structure in his country. The Swedish side expressed interest in cooperating with Uzbekistan in justice, law, security, and migration.

Mr. Tashkulov proposed signing a Memorandum of Understanding between the ministries of the two countries and considering the possibility of developing a draft bilateral agreement on mutual legal assistance between Uzbekistan and Sweden.
