Uzbekistan and Japan discuss partnership prospects

The Ambassador of Uzbekistan to Japan Mukhsinkhuja Abdurakhmonov met with Parliamentary Vice-Minister for Foreign Affairs of Japan Arfiya Eri, in Tokyo.

The parties discussed the current state and prospects of bilateral cooperation, as well as plans for its further expansion.

Arfiya Eri noted that relations between Japan and Uzbekistan are stable and trusting, based on a long history of friendship and mutual respect. According to her, Tokyo considers Tashkent as an essential strategic partner in Central Asia and is interested in strengthening cooperation.

Special attention was paid to developing cooperation in the political-parliamentary, trade-economic, cultural, educational, and tourism spheres.

Following the meeting, the parties agreed to maintain regular dialogue and coordinate efforts to deepen partnership relations between Uzbekistan and Japan.
