Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of Uzbekistan Furkat Sidikov has met with Deputy Foreign Minister for Economic Diplomacy Mehdi Safari in Tehran, Uzbekistan MFA reports.

During the talks, the parties agreed on the consistent implementation of the agreements reached following the visits and negotiations at various levels between the two countries, the 14th meeting of the Joint Intergovernmental Commission on Cooperation, as well as on further expansion of bilateral trade-economic and industrial cooperation.

The parties discussed the issues of accelerating the implementation of joint startup projects announced by the two countries in science and innovation, as well as within the framework of measures to improve the environmental situation in the Aral Sea region.

Prospects for further development of multifaceted relations between Uzbekistan and Iran were also discussed in detail.

The parties exchanged views on several other current issues on the agenda.
