Talks were held between representatives of the Embassy of Uzbekistan, the Hokimiyat of Samarkand region, and the Indian company Stemz Healthcare via videoconference.
The parties discussed implementing a joint project to create a modern cancer center in Samarkand.
Deputy Hokim of Samarkand region Rustam Kobilov informed about the favorable conditions created in Uzbekistan for fruitful international cooperation in various fields, including medicine. Particular attention was paid to the capabilities of the medical infrastructure and healthcare institutions and the potential of Samarkand industry specialists.
Raman Sodhi, CEO of Stemz Healthcare, expressing interest in establishing cooperation with medical institutions of Uzbekistan, noted that organizational issues and prospects for the future joint clinic are being studied.
It was noted that an oncology center would be equipped with modern and advanced technologies, highly qualified specialists would be involved in its activities, and structural work would be launched to improve the skills of Uzbek medical workers.
The parties agreed on organizing a visit of the delegation of the Indian company to Samarkand shortly.
