Uzbekistan and ILO: Practical Collaboration Enhances

The Chairperson of the Senate of Uzbekistan, Chairperson of the National Commission for Combating Trafficking in Persons and Forced Labor Tanzila Narbayeva held talks in Geneva with the Regional Director of the ILO Regional Office for Europe and Central Asia, Beate Andrees.

Enhancing relations between Uzbekistan and the ILO was considered, including bringing interaction to a new level in the country’s systematic organization of decent working conditions.

To expand the presence of the organization in Uzbekistan and Central Asia, the establishment of the position of an international coordinator of the ILO, whose office will be located in Tashkent, has been announced.

In addition, views were expressed on the creation of a subregional ILO office in Tashkent for all Central Asian countries.

Following the meeting, an agreement was reached to intensify joint projects involving highly qualified ILO specialists.
