Uzbekistan and ILO: Labor rights and social protection of employees to be strengthened
Chairperson of the Senate of Uzbekistan, Chairperson of the National Commission on Combating Human Trafficking and Decent Labor Issues Tanzila Narbayeva arrived in Geneva to attend the International Labor Conference.
During the visit, a meeting took place with the Director of the ILO Bureau for Workers’ Activities (ACTRAV) Maria Helena André, and issues of protecting workers’ labor rights and strengthening their social protection were discussed. The participants exchanged views on improving the skills and potential of trade union specialists by creating educational programs jointly with the ILO.

Due to the active development of entrepreneurship in Uzbekistan, an increase in the share of the private sector, and the interest of international brands in Uzbekistan’s market, attention is being directed toward developing the trade union movement in private enterprises.
