Cooperation between Uzbekistan and Georgia is enhancing, trade turnover, and the number of joint projects is increasing.
At the meeting of the Chairperson of the Senate of the Oliy Majlis of the Republic of Uzbekistan Tanzila Narbayeva with representatives of the Georgian delegation led by the Chairman of the Parliament of Georgia Shalva Papuashvili, it was noted that trade turnover increased by 23 percent last year.
The parties discussed enhancing trade, economic, and investment cooperation, intensifying cultural and humanitarian exchange, and taking inter-parliamentary relations between the two countries to a new level. Views were exchanged on the use of the existing potential of the countries and the implementation of joint projects in transport and logistics, banking, finance, and tourism. Particular attention was focused on intensifying cultural and humanitarian ties to bring people closer together. It was noted that the peoples of Uzbekistan and Georgia traditionally share strong bonds of friendship, and the frequent holding of cultural events contributes to the development of cooperation.

Emphasis was placed on communication between parliaments and increasing the role of inter-parliamentary friendship groups to ensure the effective implementation of high-level agreements reached between the two countries.
At the meeting, an agreement was reached to strengthen gender equality and develop cooperation between regions and within international organizations.
