As previously reported, Tashkent hosts the FIA General Assembly.
A roundtable discussion, featuring the FIA delegation and heads of several ministries and departments responsible for improving road safety, was held at the Main Department of Internal Affairs of Tashkent City.

The event was attended by the Representative of the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan for Sports, Odil Abdurakhmonov, Minister of Sports Adham Ikramov, Minister of Internal Affairs Aziz Tashpulatov, First Deputy Chairman of the National Olympic Committee Otabek Umarov, First Deputy Minister of Transport Mamanbiy Omarov, FIA Deputy President for Automobile Mobility and Tourism Tim Shearman, FIA Secretary General Willem Groenewald, as well as deputy heads and specialists of relevant agencies.

During the meeting, the guests were informed about ongoing activities in Uzbekistan in the automotive industry, the modernization of road infrastructure, and the development of motorsport. Special technical means, transport, and information systems capabilities used to ensure road safety were also presented.

The participants discussed cooperation with FIA on ensuring road safety, reducing congestion, expanding the use of artificial intelligence, and sharing best practices.
Following the meeting, an agreement was reached to develop a roadmap with FIA to study and implement international best practices, as well as to implement relevant measures.
