In recent years, thanks to the political will and joint efforts of the heads of state, relations between the Republic of Uzbekistan and the Arab Republic of Egypt have reached a new level.

This was noted at the meeting held in the Senate of the Oliy Majlis with the delegation of Al-Azhar University.

Constant contacts and dialogue are developing more actively between the two countries' parliaments, governments, ministries, and agencies.

Attention was also focused on the training workshop “Theoretical and practical aspects of studying the norms of Islamic teaching on women's rights in Uzbekistan”, which is attended by well-known Islamic scholars, leading experts, and representatives of the religious spheres of both countries.

It was emphasized that the workshop serves to protect women’s rights and interests, forward practical proposals, develop recommendations, and introduce positive experience.

It should be noted that the United Nations Population Fund has long-term cooperation with Al-Azhar University on women’s rights, health, education, employment, and active participation in society.

Views were exchanged on plans to be implemented in the future and joint international events.
