Beijing hosted a meeting between the Ministers of Transport of Uzbekistan Ilkhom Mahkamov and China Li Xiaopeng.

According to the Ministry of Transport of Uzbekistan, essential tasks related to developing cooperation between the two countries in transport were noted at the meeting.

In particular, the ministers discussed the implementation of the project for the construction of the “China – Kyrgyzstan – Uzbekistan” railway, the development of the multimodal transport corridor “Andijan – Osh – Irkeshtom – Kashgar”, simplified issuance of visas to drivers engaged in international freight transportation, and formation of new multimodal transport corridors.

An agreement was also reached to hold a meeting of working groups of the two states in the near future to implement issues discussed at the meeting.
